It's a fantastic facility. If you've not been there yet, you may want to spend $8 to check it out. And if you like it consider a membership which is a lot cheaper if you go there multiple times.
If you don't have a membership then yes. But the $8 lets you use almost everything in the facility for the whole day, not just the basketball courts. So it's well worth the day pass fee.
