Oysters have a 21 day shelf life from the final harvest date on the shellfish tag. As long as the shell is closed tightly and it is with in the 21 day time frame, they are safe to eat. They are a live animal, open shells mean they are dead. Do not eat open oysters
I dont know positivley. I was told as long are shells are closed and not ramk smelling. I would check with your local fish momger.Op
