Is this a good place to view a meteor shower? I've been dying to watch the Perseids but never have a good place within easy driving distance. Wondering whether there are restrictions on using the park after closing time.

Not sure about the parking situation, but it's pretty wide open so you should be able to see a lot of the sky. That being said, there's a lot of light pollution in the area so you may not see much. If you want a great show you're gonna have to travel.
