I just took my dog Spud in today for an annual visit. I have had him on Hill Science Metabolic, diet and mobility dog food - dry and wet. It has been so good but so so expensive. Is there an alternative food for continued weight loss?

I use 4health made by blue diamond which is free of grain and additives, the more natural you get, the more healthy, my dogs are very active and fit, and its not that expensive

Not all grain free foods are good for dogs. Make sure you check lists for recalled product

We rescue dogs and many have health and weight issues .We have had all our fur babies on V-Dog and they are all healthier than ever! We have been using V-Dog for about 3 years now . Hope this helps :)

Ron, While science diet is one of the best, there are many alternatives. Nutro, a lot of store brands Purina, etc. Most have specific formulas for weight loss/ maintenance. Just check the ingredients and do a little homework and you will be fine. I'll look into some options for you and get back to you

That sounds like a good question to ask your vet directly. This question section is almost entirely community driven, so I don't expect you'll get an official answer on this Maps questions section
