They are made to perform. The last part of their show during the "experience" is specifically trained tricks with two elephants doing hula hoops, soccer, bowing, and balancing on one side. This while the handler is holding a bull hook the whole time. This is not a sanctuary. They haven't been saved from circuses. They have had same owners, staff, and handlers as they had when in showbiz as they do now in Texas. Bull hooks still by each elephant's side.
Their former name is Have Trunk Will Travel. They movee here from California, there is now stricter animal laws including the use of bullhooks. Please do your research, this is NOT a "preserve/sanctuary."
This is practically a private circus. They use bull hooks to get them to perform tricks. They might not be aggressive with them to the public, but to get them to do what they want, they must have used the bulls hooks aggressively at one point. Dr. Jeff Lap is this true? A bull hook? I get that you saved them from the circus, but the sanctuary uses bull hooks on them? You saved them from one circus to another circus? Just change the name its not a sanctuary!!
