In Florida, if there is a body of water, chances are high that a gator lives in or near it. However, they don't seem to like the cooler (~72 degree) springs to swim in but they may sun nearby.
Yes. Oleno State Park has a huge bull alligator. They don't seem to be as common near the spring heads where the water is cold, but they are definitely in the river.
We never seen any while there but I'm pretty sure there are danger signs up for them
