Yes they still open on August, i know they close for winter because i went on February and the gates was closed but we parked outside and we just walk is a long walk but you still can get there.

I saw that there are a few sketchy spots where the trail is narrow. How narrow? I'm just trying to find out if it's the kind of "narrow" that you make one misstep you're dead, or if the trail is at least a few feet wide. Is the side a sheer dropoff?
