The Caldwell Zoo is small, but with the zoo membership, you can also visit zoo's that are in the group free of charge during your membership period.
Caldwell zoo is perfect and has a lot of animals.

Caldwell in Tyler is worth the drive and you can easily do a day trip from Shreveport. There is also a zoo in Monroe but it is tiny and not well kept. I would say check out Caldwell.
