It doesn't cost anything to dig for crystals; i dont know about swimming cause it was fall when we went. Definitely take shovels, bowls, egg cartons are great for holding the crystals, water is useful for washing everything. You'll need sunblock, sunglasses, hats; its super bright and hot on the plains.
There is no cost to swim. The crystal dig area is actually separate from the accessable parts of the lake, but it is also free to dig for crystals. They do not provide anything so you definitely need to bring shovels, and anything else you may want/need as Megan said.
It's free but you will need your own supplies
