It's a really nice park with several miles of walking trails. There are two suspension bridges(walking) and streams. To walk all of it, at least half a day. Several different trails to walk. Since it's a ravine, there's the top paved loop, then a loop part way down, then the bottom. Lots of picnic areas. The paved trail loop was closed to cars when we went in March due to erosion from hurricanes. Not sure if it still is. February/March is best because that's when the Azaleas and Camellia's are blooming.
Absolutely worth the short drive. We drove an hour and a half and it was great. Walk the trails while you're there!
Like most of the previous comments, it is a beautiful park. There are several places where you can grill and picnic.
I'm pretty sure it has reopened. There are however some wash out issues alond the road. No cars allowed right now, walkers only.
You can easily spend hours walking the trails. Also, there are 2 suspensions bridges, springs and a creek that runs thru the property. We brought our dog and had a great time.
I don't think it's worth that drive. It's a nice place, but not worth driving 2 and a half hours.
Walking the main road, it took us about a hour. We didn't walk any side trails, because we had a stroller.
