I've taken my family there the last 2 years. We have never encountered or heard about snakes or aligators around. Go have fun, but always keep an eye out.

We didn't see any, but Yes there are alligators and snakes in the area. Swimming here is as safe as any other lake or river in the area. Snakes and alligators dont usually hang out where a lot of people are, but you should keep an eye out. We absolutely swam. :)

There are no alligators. There are snakes. Like in any lake just be aware of your surroundings. No is the time to go. School has started and the island is mostly available.
