Yes you can fish. It's better in the evening when there usef t as much swimming traffic, or closer to the bridge where there are fewer people.
Im not sure it is worth the effort, with the amount of people in water. Although by the bridge was pretty quiet when we were there.
You can if you rent, but I wouldn't count on catching anything with all the swimmers/tubers/boaters.
