Alabama allegedly has a $500 fine for taking a dog onto a gulf beach. There are two legal, official dog beaches: one is on Lake Shelby, at the dog park near the new Gulf State Park Hotel and Convention Center. The other is east down Perdido Key near Lost Key, a very small dog park on the Intercoastal Waterway.
I agree most are not only service dogs. May need to check around for one.
I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe dogs are allowed on any of the beaches. Only beaches I know are dog friendly are on dauphin island.
The average lawsuit for a dog bite nets 25k, probably not a good idea to bring a biting dog around a crowd of people.
