A day pass is $10 and can be done at the 3 pay boxes within the park. The discover pass which is a day pass extension for a year, and highly recommend, is $30. I used to work at Schafer.
The $30 annual pass is good at ALL Washington State Parks and expires one year from when you buy it! And, it can be used on two of your vehicles. Get it anyplace that sells fishing licenses... like Dennis Co. in Elma or Montesano. Thats much better than a $10 one day pass!
I sweet little Park. Well worth the visit. Has quite a bit of history there. I used to be a logging camp at one time
