The river is just outside the front door and there's a footbridge accessible just across the driveway. It didn't feel particularly romantic to me. It's in a business area. It's a lovely hotel, though. As for outings, I'm not sure that's something Marriott offers anywhere, except maybe Autograph Collection or higher end properties.
The river side has beautiful views. It's not a romantic place per se but you can certainly have a romantic walk around the river which is right out the front door. No planned adventures but you can walk to the downtown and explore the quirky shops or rent a car and in an hour you are in the mountains.
The footbridge across the river is beautiful and there is a romantic feel. It's a business area for sure, outings in that area may be a drive away to the mountains. Sorry not so sure about that.
