Hi Cindy, great question. Could you elaborate on your last sentence? Lots of ducks and geese by the river, and the occasional seagull. Also seen sparrows, heard morning doves, and i am sure there are more. Would not recommend feeding any of the birds, but would direct any questions to the DCR website.
I am more accustomed to Spy pond area landscape near Arlington.... Massachusetts Avenue- so this answer is relevant to that park area which is not very far away. There are plenty of booklets & brochure s displayed on stands around spypond garden area, with pictures & information about local birds. Also ducks or other water birds floating and feeding on the lake fish - but once a local lady ( guide ?) pointed to a great eagle gliding sky high... The wing spread must be about 3 meters..
Thank you. I'm new at this (wanting to help the birds). I discovered Wild Birds Unlimited (several locations) on Instagram. They carry feeders and food for birds. Very nice pictures and some video there. I lost my pet bird as a girl (was not mature enough to care well enough for it). Pet birds are wonderful too. Thank you for responding. I would like if apartment complexes and parks would care for the birds there. They are a comfort to me, and to other people. I would be glad to contribute to that (maybe get something going). I like horses too and cats. I hope the rabbits are doing ok. Happy spring and summer in this nice area. Nice that there are these spaces.
