All crabs are in season in Louisiana from February til December.
All the time
Snow crabs are available year 'round but they are not included in the buffet price. They are available per pound for a small additional charge.
Actually snow crabs are fished for about 6 months cooked at the docks then frozen to ship around the world. Snow crab catch quota's have been reduced every year since 2015 so that now the allowed catch is half what it was, that has driven the price way up and forced buffets to either charge by the pound or raise the price of the bar to around $35 before tax and that has to include child price too. The season normally ends around April.
