The rules are service animals only but people do bring small dogs occasionally. However there is usually a deputy sheriff and most of the time they will ask the person to remove the dog. There is simply too great a risk of someone getting bitten.
And just in case your dog *doesn't* fit in your shirt pocket, I would highly recommend using a strong (but short) leash & even if your dog DOESN'T bite, it would be a good idea to use a well fitting, high quality muzzle. (Trust me, its WORTH it! You'll be glad you did) ...the type that makes it impossible for a dog to pick up & eat whatever gets dropped & kicked around on the ground throughout the aisles. To avoid having people bitten, some people will put their dogs in doggie, or baby strollers and tie leash to stroller, or put them in some type of carrier as to avoid biting people passing by
