You should use all regular common sense regarding marijuana in public in Colorado. It is not appropriate around the mine as there are children and other industrial dangers.

I know the guide smokes cigars but it wasn't weed so I'd just save anything more than that for after the tour

I'm not sure what that means, but as they do make a point about the deadliness of smoking, I'd guess not.
