We loved it our guide was funny and super friendly. He answered every question we anyone had and was knowledgeable. Everyone was really nice, and we got to feed super cute chipmunks! It’s was so interesting learning new things and seeing them for yourself. Def recommend!

There are a lot of mines to choose from but I HIGHLY recommend this one. They have chipmunks that you can feed and that was a lot of fun. Guides were great and it is definitely a lot of history and science discussion, as well as gold panning at the end. Love their gift shop that is in an old school bus.

A truly unique, family-owned mine. We had the pleasure of getting one of the owners give us a tour. He was so sweet and extremely knowledgeable about not just mining and it’s history, but also scientific processes, chemistry, and more. It was so incredible to get a tour from a miner himself. Truly appreciated his time, attention, and magnitude of information! If you’re in the area I highly recommend it. On top of that, the gold panning is fun (but not easy!!).

Wonderful family owned real gold mine! This place is truly GOLDEN. Don’t miss it! Friendly and very knowledgeable staff guide you through the retired portion working gold mine. Fascinating, informative, and interactive. Witness a true gold vein INSIDE a mountain and hear stories of Colorado’s gold mining heyday on a ~40 minute walking tour. Learn interesting facts about the mining process and how it affects our modern lives. Then, pan for real gold you can take home and enjoy forever!

Absolutely!! Theyll sell u a little vile for a couple bucks and use a pipet to drop your gold in.
The Phoenix Gold Mine was found in 1871. It was mined from 1908 to 1942. Opened for tours in 1988.
the tour is about an hour, depending on how many questions are asked it could go a little longer, but you can stay and pan as long as you like!
You should use all regular common sense regarding marijuana in public in Colorado. It is not appropriate around the mine as there are children and other industrial dangers.
Not sure what the current price is, but you can just show up and sign in for the next available tour. Typically not a long wait. Still might want to call ahead.
Adult tour and pan combo is $15, adult tour only is $10, and adult pan only is also $10. Kid (Under 12) tour is $5, kids pan free. Large group deals are available, and must be pre arranged by phone.
