Why is it that when I called to check for vacancies I was told there were no vacancies, but as I stood outside there were only 3 vehicles out there, but they have 41 rooms?

We have stayed there several times. I think it's a Mother\Daughter operation. They are nice and friendly i just think they need a vacation of their own...in the big city. We were there for the annual rodeo and it served us well. Close to the hiway\gas\food and we drove around town and also took the old hiway 10 east through Sentinel Butte and Medora. Nice quiet drive! And scenic!

Haha... We just stumbled onto that place traveling down the highway and it was kinda creepy. I can't remember if we had called first or not but saw it when we stopped to get gas. At first sight it looked like it was abandoned but there ended up being an odd lady behind the counter who rented us a room. Zero cars in the parking lot when we checked in but the next morning there were two extra cars. The room was clean and it served it's propose for a nights sleep but as i said, the lady was a little strange but nice. I think they aren't really concerned if people stay there or not so that might be why you got the answer you did when you called. There's not much around there so it's not like you're in some bustling Mecha.
