The park is very over populated with copperheads and there are a draw water moccasin as well. As far as alligators there are some at Lake Isabelle which is one of the lakes inside the park but it is a 3 mile hike to get there.

Yes. There is a small nature center, and they have live snakes (safely secured in their habitat). Kids will like it, the information at the nature center will help distinguished between poisionous and non- poisionous snakes.

I've seen medium-sized snakes along and on the hiking trails. I've also heard alligators bellowing near the swampy part (with the cypress trees) but never saw any.
