Yes, it might take some trekking to find them since I'm sure the locals know the honey holes but it could be worth it to try.

There are lots of tree areas to search. Never been there during morel season.

As you may know, it is perfectly legal to harvest morels on state property in Missouri. Now, whether Thousand Hills would be a good place to find morels, I cannot say. However, my father and I used to hunt for morels in the Busch Wildlife Conservation Area near St. Charles, MO. It's an area that's relatively similar to Thousand Hills in terms of geography, and we often had quite a bit of luck there. Thousand Hills also seems like it would be a good place, according to what I've read online. Hope this helps!
