It's up to the state if you have to wear masks indoors, not the dino gardens. You do have to wear a mask indoors to buy your ticket and be in the gift shop, but being outdoors is really open and there's plenty of space to social distance. You shouldn't need one outdoors!

If you go into the store yes. But in the gardens no. Everything outside does not require a mask. We were there not long ago.

David, as of today (8/24/20) masks are still mandatory for public health safety. Our beautiful northern cities are still enjoying lower infection rates, and wearing masks indoors will help keep it that way. While we were on the trails, our small family group was easily able to maintain significant social distancing from others, so we enjoyed the gardens and the fresh air, mask-free.

Hi David. As Sierra and Lynn said, it's not the businesses in Michigan forcing you to wear a mask, it's our wonderful governor! I was just there three days ago. Masks and social distancing take place inside the gift shop, but are not required outside while touring the dinosaurs. Have a great time there!!

I agree with Sierra. We just visited 2 weeks ago. Mask are required when you go in to pay and for the gift shop.
