Paint usually needs to be in a dry state or recycled. I think hardware stores sell a drying agent. A/C units need any freon or liquids removed. These are pretty basic hazardous waste guidelines. You can always call them for their rules. I did see an oil recycling tank when I was there.
Yes, the AC unit might have to be disposed of separately. Call to be sure.
