What year was the lighthouse built? Also, what's the history of the lighthouse?

I don't know the answer to your questions although there is a museum in the light house and markers outside indicating landings.

There's a plaque with a story about a shipwreck of a family at Bristol in 1635 in which everybody perished. I took a picture of it and it's in the photos. But the answer to your question is 1827. First lit: 1857.
