Per the texrenfest website: No. Pets are not permitted on the festival grounds. The Texas Renaissance Festival has many animals inside the 55 acre theme park, some exotic. Household pets can spread disease to our animals. No dogs or other pets are allowed on the festival grounds, except Service Dogs. We prefer that Service Dogs have proper identification (vest, documentation, etc.) when you bring them into the festival gates. Service dogs may be taken to any area in the festival. Although when I visited I saw dogs that were identified as service dogs walking the grounds

They are correct, for the most part. Service animals are always allowed but this past visit I did see that an attendee had with them their parrot as part of their costume. And yes, it was real.

Douglas Boyer | May 6, 2018

Agreed. Service animal only.
