No you don't for this year. But after this year you will need it to fly within the US I would suggest you getting one. As the end nears it will take longer to get one due to the fact that all states will have to comply to the new federal law
You don't need a passport if you are flying within the US unless you are using the passport for identification purposes. However, you definitely need a passport if you are flying into or out of the US
