I go to Standing Bear multiple times per week for walking, running, walking the dogs etc, but no swimming allowed because it's a dam site. (I really wish it wasn't a dam site because it would be so much closer) It can be dangerous with all the undertow that's created. Someone just drowned last week in Cunningham Lake because he tried to swim back to shore from a broken down boat and the dam's undertow took him down. We go out to Louisville Lakes, 144th st and just a couple miles South of Hwy 50. It is a state park, so you will need a park pass $6 daily or $30 yearly. They have a beach and swimming lake with a changing room on the beach and REAL bathrooms and even showers within walking distance of the beach. It is a campground as well with all facilities for tents and R.V.s. Ha, I feel like I just did a review for Louisville Lakes!
There is no swimming beach here, unfortunately I don't know of any local lakes for swimming
No, sorry. I'm not aware of any nearby beaches with swimming.
Thanks everyone we are traveling on vacation so trying to find a swim beach within 30 minutes from Omaha
Not at Standing Bear, sorry. The closest we know of are Lake Manawa IA or Fremont Lakes NE.
No swimming allowed
