I am pretty sure the second floor does not allow pets so i woukd say yoi atr safe to stay there...
All La Quinta Inn hotels are pet friendly and don't charge for pets. Your best bet is to book with a hotel chain that has a no pet policy.

I would ask them. I do know that they have given me upper floor rooms with my dog
I would call to verify this because I've stayed on both floors with my dog.
I've been to many La Quintas which are very clean this one is being remodeled and we were on the second floor with a small dog was not as clean as others
It is a pet friendly hotels (all rooms) there are other hotels that have designated pet areas only... however, LA Quinta appears to be a very clean hotel.
Pets are allowed on first floor
Would recommend another hotel. Florence LaQuinta was a disappointment. Was not a clean motel. Found cereal in 1 bed and sheets and towels smelled weird!
