There is camping in very near by Hood Park. State run and very nice. Has fishing and swimming options, if you don't mind the river temps (better in summer, of course).

Camping 1 mile away, but only during summer months and access to your camp spot is locked at 10 p.m. so you must leave a vehicle outside the gate if you want to leaveThe govt. and railroads have blocked 99 per cent of access to the Snake and Columbia rivers by making it illegal to cross railroad property to access the public land on the other side and the state by closing most all the parks completely or at dusk so you must pull your boat by then, and if you don't have a boat your tresspassing and your I.D. will be asked for and you will be harrased for a breathalyzer and more.
