Wouldn't go in the rain. So many nice things to see on the walk after the ride.
Definitely would not make that a place to go on Memorial Day weekend if it's raining.
Thank you for your question! For those planning their weekend activities, we are open this Memorial Day weekend. In the case of rain, most of our attractions remain open with the exception of the Rio Grande Train and Fun Slide. Lightning storms will force a temporary closure of any mechanical and water attractions for the safety of our guests and staff. Rainy, overcast days are actually great for seeing the animals in action and guests are always welcome to drive through more than once!
Actually lite rain is the time to see the animals, it's cooler and animals are more active. Not laying under trees for shade. Best time to go is when they open at 9:30..
Open rain or shine. We went and it started raining. The animals were still out, but we were not able to do the walking part of the tour. I would suggest going on a clear day.
They advertize that they are open rain or shine. I assume during a hurricane that may change. During the summer, the animals may be more active during the rain since it would be cooler during the rain. I know that the animals are more active when they open at 9:30am than latter in the day. I think it's because its the cooler part of the day, and they just got fed.
Its open , but it wont be as fun!
