There are areas both above and below the falls to walk.
It looks like your question was answered that it's both above and below. We have had tons of rain and the falls are really running right now, not typical for this time of year. As stated wear some tough shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and wet.
A river runs to the falls. There are stairs you can walk down to the bottom of the falls. Best time to see it is in the spring and after a rain. The falls do dry up in the summer when we have no rain. But is cool to see in the spring as after the snow melts or after a down pour of rain.
David La Plant...you can check out from the top or actually take the steps & trail right up to the falls...make sure you in hiking shoes & not high heels...lol JK
