Thanks for asking! Over the recent extended period of extreme weather, ~ heavy, blowing, and drifting snows; ~ windchill warnings; and ~ icy rains disrupted curbside service. To prevent accidents and/or frostbite, we had to take the trucks off the roads mid-day or cancel a day’s routes entirely. When a holiday falls on or before your collection day, everyone's service is bumped one day later the rest of the week. To make up the routes after a weather issue would require either running two sets of routes in one day--which we are not equipped or staffed to do--or confusing customers for the entire week. So, if your recyclables are not picked up during extreme weather, please: > hold on to them and set them back out on your usual collection day the next week (it's okay to use cardboard boxes or storage totes to set out in, in addition to your cart and totes), or > take some your recyclables to one of the Drop-off Sites when the weather has improved. Thank you for recycling with us!
Yes, last week Emmet Country pulled our trucks off the roads due to dangerous driving conditions. The county doesn't enjoy paying overtime. So if your route was on a snow day, unfortunately you will be skipped until your next scheduled day.
