Yes, you can fish right in the surf, from the beach. Their is also a jetty on one end of the park, that allows you to fish farther out into the water.
Salt water only. No fishing in ponds
It is fishing from the pier on the ocean, so yes, it is salt water fishing. I don't believe there is a lake /pond for freshwater fishing.
