I have to go on the side of business error and lack of supervision. On a busy work day Monday thru Friday management is visible and on point. When I have visited on a Sunday afternoon my order as well as other patrons took an excessive amount of time to be completed. They were out of products so no suggestive sales were done at the counters and the cashier was rude and curt with me when I expressed my preference for sides as if I were too stupid to have already notice that they had already run out of options for sides. I will find another place for my Sunday afternoon meals and not be bothersome or insulted.
I have to take their side a little bit on this because I've seen people go in there and buy boxes of bagels and cookies and other stuff. As a business owner you have to plan so you don't have alot of over inventory, especially with food that has to be thrown away.
Panera tries to make whole and healthy food, the kind of stuff that doesn't sit under a heat lamp for hours. They pride themselves on fresh produce, something that generally requires localized sources and logistics. If thefe is a hiccup in the fresh produce supply chain, they can run out of quality food. Logistical isdues may or may not be the fault of tbe local chain. Sucks they ran outta food, my guess is that the manager would have preferred to provide you with quality food.
