I don’t know what’s going on with this location but it has been very disappointing the last few times, even when ordering different items from the menu. First disappointment was when they let me order a green goddess salad but then at the window said the only dressing I could get was ceasar. The whole point of the green goddess salad is the green goddess dressing, otherwise it’s just a salad…Then the next time I ordered a sandwich, they literally made it with the heel of the loaf of bread!!! This last time has confirmed that I won’t be returning to this location. I ordered a ceasar salad with chicken and the lettuce is old and the chicken is still frozen. Awful. Way to go Panera in Rocklin, you ruined a salad. A salad!!!! I give up.

Roaches walking around, place needs to be closed and deep cleaned. Bathrooms were disgusting. I love panera bread but this one has a roach problem

Overall, this Panera has the tasty food you'd expect, it generally has only average quality service, but the main issue is that it gets super busy at certain times and therefor can have some pretty long waiting times. The food is always good, although a bit expensive for what you get, but that's Panera for you regardless of location. The service here is usually only average, sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. I think a lot of it might be that they hire young people who maybe this is their first job and they haven't got the hang of customer service, which is fine, and ultimately I've never had a really bad customer service experience at this location. The biggest issue with this location is they can take orders from the front counter, the kiosks, the drive through and presumably online, which means that when they are busy the kitchen must just be overrun with orders. Even with a full staff it must be nearly impossible to deliver the orders in a reasonable amount of time. This is really much more a failure of Panera as a company to fail to realize/care that they are overrunning their employees so much, especially at rush times. Ultimately, I have been going to this Panera for years, as it's one of the easiest places around to grab lunch, and it's almost always good, with a few mediocre experiences mixed in.

I’ve already had a negative experience at this location back in October in which I called customer service and they resolved. However, upon this visit everything was great up until I tried my salad. I ordered a pick 2 with a chicken Caesar salad and Mac and cheese. When I began eating my salad I noticed the taste was off. It wasn’t tasting how it normally does and was rather bad. I began picking around my salad and then realized that half of the leaves were black, indicating that I was served rotten lettuce. That explained the bad taste. Once again I am rather disappointed and don’t pay that kind of money to receive a salad that I can’t even eat. I don’t complain in restaurant because I don’t know if people are new and don’t know any better.

Questions & Answers

Stopped by to pick up a sandwich today at the drive thru - was given a small loaf of bread instead of chips - is that normal or was someone distracted in putting my order together? Didn't notice until I'd returned to the office.

As the previous answer mentions you have to choose. It defaults to a baguette. The person taking your order should ask you, but I've noticed that at this Panera they rarely ask you, so try to remember to ask for chips if you can...and make sure you let them know they didn't ask, if they hear it enough maybe we can change their behavior.

No.

How can a large restaurant chain like Panera run out of food? You should have plenty to serve all customers, I go through your drive through and you are out of some of your cookies by noon.

I have to go on the side of business error and lack of supervision. On a busy work day Monday thru Friday management is visible and on point. When I have visited on a Sunday afternoon my order as well as other patrons took an excessive amount of time to be completed. They were out of products so no suggestive sales were done at the counters and the cashier was rude and curt with me when I expressed my preference for sides as if I were too stupid to have already notice that they had already run out of options for sides. I will find another place for my Sunday afternoon meals and not be bothersome or insulted.
