The park is very busy this season. So getting in can take an hour or two. For the best experience, I suggest camping. That way you only have to wait in line once. Pack a cooler and some food and spend two or three days having the time of your life!! They also sell food there as well.
Greensburg and Shelbyville are your best hotel options nearby. They do offer camping at White Rock. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table and have lovely views of the quarry and/or river.
You can either camp there for 35 a day, or stay at a hotel that you pass going to it.
