My 8lb dog may have consumed half of an 400mg. prescription ibuprofen. She seems okay so far, should I bring her in to be seen on Monday?

If she for sure only ate roughly 200mg, she may develop some gastrointestinal signs like vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach ulcerations. We would want to start some decontamination and get her on some gi Medication to protect her stomach lining. Call us if signs arise or you think she consumed more than that before Monday if needed.

On the internet it says within an hour they can have nausea, vomiting, bloody stools. Other symptoms were nervous system problems like loss of coordinatio ect. If its been more than an hour and no symptoms it sounds like you got lucky and your dog didnt get the pill. The internet said it is serious if you are sure they ate it. Where is your closest emergency vet. I've given my daschund 2 tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting when he ate a tube of watercolor paint. However I am a lay person with no medical training. Try to get in touch with your vet or emergency vet.great job Valley Vet!
