Considering the vintage of the bridge and the high volume of traffic, the bridge gets the job done. It is one of only a few bridges across the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. It really could benefit from a second two-lane bridge next to it.

I don't know for sure... But half the bridge is an Oregon highway and Oregon law says: "814.150. Failure to perform duties of person in charge of livestock on highway; penalty... (a) When riding or leading a horse or other livestock on the highway, a person must keep a lookout for vehicles and use caution to keep the animal under control." I'm guessing Washington law is similar. So I guess maybe. From a practical point of view there is a fairly small bike lane on one side. One could use it, but it might be pretty frightening for the horse given the highway can get busy and has semi trucks. I personally wouldn't.
