Not very far. If you go in and go right, theres a trail that loops back to the parking lot, just be careful not to trip on slick rocks.
Its easy but there are trails and such that are slightly more difficult. There is a park. Then a route to head to the falls. Lots of places to explore. If you are concerned, it's still an enjoyable spot.
