My wife and got about 60% through the prison break scene. I think a 3rd or 4th person would have made for success.
Two people can do an escape room, but depending on who you go with, it might be more fun with a third person.
Our Lost Cabin room can be done with 2 people. I would suggest 3-5 for the other rooms.
Even if they were 2 really smart people I think it takes more. As to a team, the players can be strangers to each other but someone needs to be bossy enough to say "you do this, I'll do that".
