We are the owners and it is "very highly recommended" that you wear some type of enclosed shoe if you are doing any sort of exploring or walking in the river at all. An old tennis shoe, something with an enclosed toe and back strap. We always wear (water) shoes. The more your foot is covered the better. We also have them for sale in the office if you cannot find anything. $15 adult size, $10 child size.

Not required, just recommended. I bought some water socks. They were perfect
You don't have to have water shoes but I would recommend them as there are trees and other things under the water which are at best uncomfortable to touch
