There's an information desk that explains everything at the gate
Briefly. Was saved in 1850s before clearcutting took place. Is one of largest old growth forests left on east coast. There is a good movie at the park facility that covers the history of the park. Suggest that before doing any hiking there.
At the entrance of the park, they have a small Museum area. They have a theater that shows an hour video talking about the history of the park. Can't remember anything specific at the moment.
