Theft is at an all time high. But let the store manager know you felt disrespected. Unfortunately, a lot of stores are using short staffing as am excuse for poor services and mismanagement.

They do it to everyone. They constantly have people steal. I wouldn't take it personally.
I always say if you don't feel comfortable don't spend your money there.. go somewhere else. Your money represents your time and your talent and if you don't feel respected you shouldn't use it.
They do have a theft problem. I always try to look at it from their perspective before I get upset. The guard probably has an emotional problem. Thankfully the guard has a job and isn't stuck stealing to eat...
