Yes no respect for any target
Yes, unfortunately they do. My own past experience, is that a few people bring targets, but most don’t. The ones that don’t, are the first ones to shoot at targets, that someone else put out there. By the time I would set my targets and walk back to the shooting line, they would call “Hot Line” and my targets would be blown to smithereens, before I could even load my own rifle. After a few experiences like this, I quit bringing my own targets. I don’t mind if people shoot at my targets. Just give me the first crack, at a couple of them. It is stil a lot of fun, though. If you’re looking for target ideas, you can use detergent bottles, chunks of 3-4” PVC pipe (painted fluorescent colors), mannequins, pumpkins, clay birds, ceramic tile, empty spray paint cans, etc. Just don’t bring any glass. Be careful when you go out to change targets. There is a lot of shredded, rusty metal, and other sharp objects. Wear some good boots and leather gloves.
Yep. It’s a shame too. I disagree that all the targets are fair game. If you didn’t bring them, don’t shoot them. I spent $25 on bowling pins and gel packs and they were gone within seconds. Its bogus. Don’t buy them cause there is no respect at the pit.
I haven't shot at the pit since it has been redone, do they call a cease fire and allow you to go down and change or place targets?
Mind you, this was many many years ago, someone brought a full life-size Barney dinosaur and put it a front of a small cannon. They did give everyone permission that after they did their 1st blast we were allowed to "light it up". There must have been about 10 of us that did our reenactment of the "GodFather" movie's Toll Booth scene on that silly purple mess
Any target in the pit is fair game.
I have not used the plinking pit
Most people will ask before shooting your target.
Its all about fun. You will be shooting other people's targets too.
