This mine is not seeded. There is an unnatural ridge that is immediately to your left when you come in the gates, that ridge is sifted overburden and that is the only part to avoid when digging. I've been there twice in the last week, five times this year, and it's always worth it. Not the best on sunny days above 80, especially for kids under 8, because it is work to find crystals and they just lose interest and energy, but I took my 8yr old on a hot day last year and she didn't dig very long but she did help me the whole time and we came home with probably 20lb or rock that was all crystal. Don't go expecting to find specimens like you see online but more with the expectation of finding crystal if you work for it, and ask other diggers if they've had luck, ask staff where to dig, its a very friendly place.
Def a friendly place but nothing like it used to be. There was crystals and amethyst everywhere. Now you really have to dig to find anything and still only small stuff in comparison. Still its a great place to go if the weather is nice.

Are there RV parks nearby that can accommodate a 42' 5th-wheeler? We would love to do this.
