I agree to avoid payday and it's quite busy at lunch 11-1pm. For deals look for signs posted when you go in with upcoming events.
Avoid the two days before payday and payday actual. Also, don't go on Sundays. Other than that, it's pretty easy. They usually are good about having enough registers open to meet the demand. Even when the main check-out line is long, you may only be in it for 6-7 minutes.
