Many smart TVs allow casting from your device directly to the set. This is especially true with a Samsung phone and a Samsung TV, or a Sony Android TV. Before you buy anything else I would certainly suggest that you research that option further, or go in to the store with the information (model numbers, etc.) for the devices and ask an associate in the Mobile phone department or in the Home Theater department (TVs.)
A Chromecast or a firestick. Virtually plug and play. Doesn't matter smart TV or not. If it's a true smart tv, then you just need internet and Wi-Fi connected to your tv and your phone.
