Versiti is a non-profit organization that relies on the generous donations of whole blood and various blood components. While Versiti frequently has promotions where they provide a gift (such as a gift card, t-shirts, etc. to its donors, it does not pay for plasma or other donated blood components.
The FDA does not allow us to pay our volunteer donors to help protect and keep the blood supply safe. However, we do sometimes give incentives to our donors as a thank you for your time and donation. However, an incentive is not always guaranteed. At the end of the day, helping save the lives of local patients is the greatest gift anyone could receive!
Not that i am aware of but p&l on 28th street pays for plasma if i am correct.
If you got paid it would not be a donation. When someone is paid for their plasma the FDA does not allow that product to be used in a transfusion in fear that the person providing g the plasma would not accurately answer the health questionnaire. This could jeopardize the safety of the product.
